Loose Mixture of Rice and Pulses

HOPI soups combine pulses, cereals and good-quality, naturally dried vegetable in BIO quality.

In comparison with so-called "instant soups", HOPI soups do not contain any preservatives, artificial colours, monosodium glutamate or other flavourings.

One pack suffices for

  • 5 portions of thick tomato rice soup
  • 2 – 3 portions of risotto
  • 2 - 3 portions of light rice salad

Indian soup ONTARIO consists of natural rice mixed with so-called wild rice, which are fruits of a rare north-American grass zizania palustris that grows in Great Lakes area at the American/Canadian border. This mixture is complemented with red lentil, mungo beans and dried carrot.

 

SOUP: Rice Tomato Soup

Preparation Time: 35 – 40 minutes
Cover the bottom of a 2-litre pot with olive oil and fry (roast for ca 5 minutes) 125 g of tomato purée (one small tin).
Then add 2 litres of cold water and put the sorted and washed mixture in it (it is not necessary to dunk the mixture in advance). Add one lump of vegetable bouillon (preferably not containing monosodium glutamate), 3 teaspoons of basil and boil gently for 30 minutes with the pot partly uncovered until the ingredients are sufficiently soft.
In case the soup is too thick, dilute it with hot water during the cooking - cold water causes the coating of the pulses to stiffen.
Towards the end of cooking, add 2 – 3 teaspoons of sugar, add some salt, and possibly thicken with a thickener (smooth flour dissolved in cold water until the consistency is dense yet runny, pour into the soup through a sieve and stir out any possible lumps. Boil for 5 more minutes and decorate with fresh parsley.
Salt should be added after the ingredients are soft, otherwise it may prolong the time it takes for the ingredients to boil.
TIP: The soup may be mellowed by adding cream. It is enough to put one teaspoon of cream directly into the plate.

MAIN COURSE: Risotto with chicken

Number of Portions: for 2 - 3 adults
Preparation Time: 35 – 40 minutes
Hopi přírodní bio polévka OntarioSort the mixture, put it into a fine sieve, wash under running warm water and put it into a pot (it is not necessary to dunk the mixture in advance). Add 600 ml of cold water and bring to the boil. Boil for 10 minutes without a lid.
Then turn down the cooker to minimum, add some salt and boil for a further 30 minutes, until the water disappears.
Salt should be added when the ingredients are soft, otherwise it could prolong the time it takes for the ingredients to be cooked.
Mix this cooked mixture with chicken pieces (2 chicken breasts) roasted on onion. Add stewed vegetable – your favourite, e.g. baby carrots, corn, peas, butter-beans, mushrooms or simply use a pack of frozen mixed vegetables. It is also possible to add a few drops of good-quality soya sauce.

 

SALAD: Light Rice Salad with Tuna

Number of Portions: for 2 – 3 adults
Preparation Time: 35 – 40 minutes

Put the mixture into a salad bowl, add a spoonful of virgin olive oil and stir in a larger tin of tuna in olive oil. Flavour with lemon juice and supplement with sweetcorn if possible.
